EACH SUNDAY, FROM MAY THROUGH

SEPTEMBER, WE WILL TAKE A LOOK

AT THE LIVES OF THOSE CALLED BY “JESUS TO FOLLOW HIM”.

I WANT TO EXPLORE SEVERAL THINGS AS WE

LOOK AT EACH PERSON THAT JESUS CALLED;

1) WHY DID JESUS CALL HIM

2) WHO WAS THE PERSON

3) WHAT CAN WE LEARN FROM

THOSE JESUS CALLED

THESE WERE ORDINARY PEOPLE CALLED TO AN UNCOMMON TASK, WE HOPE TO SEE HOW EACH OF THEM IN THEIR OWN WAY ACCOMPLISHED THE “CALL OF JESUS” AND SHOW US HOW WE CAN “FOLLOW JESUS”

MARK 3:13-15 AND LUKE 6:12-13

TELLS OF THE CALL OF THE APOSTLES.

MOTHER’S DAY MAY 11, 2014

WE WILL RECOGNIZE MOTHERS WITH A GIFT, SUNDAY MAY 11, 2014

The origins of Mother's Day are attributed to different people. Many believe that two women, Julia Ward Howe and Anna Jarvis were important in establishing the tradition of Mother's Day in the United States. Other sources say that Juliet Calhoun Blakely initiated Mother’s Day in Albion, Michigan, in the late 1800s. Her sons paid tribute to her each year and urged others to honor their mothers.

TOO GOOD TO PASS ON…

In 1912, Hellman's mayonnaise was made in England. The company made a deal to sell its product in Mexico. They loaded 12,000 jars of mayonnaise on a ship bound for Mexico. Unfortunately, the ship sank on the way to Mexico, sending the mayonnaise to the bottom of the ocean. There was great disappointment in Mexico. To this day, they commemorate the day of that sinking with a festival they call "Sinko de Mayo." -- Happy Cinco de Mayo!

MY PRAYER FOR YOU THIS WEEK…IS FOR YOU MAY KNOW THE LOVE OF OUR LORD HAS FOR YOU AND THAT YOUR LOVE FOR HIM WILL SHOW IN YOUR LOVE FOR OTHERS!!

GOD BLESS YOU!!

SEE YOU SUNDAY!!!
